I’m a Magpie
1. The delicious fungal smell of Buena Vista Park on a foggy day. 2. Sliver gray blue gum branches standing out against the bright green leaves of the surrounding trees. 3. The normally stoic dog totally losing his mind in a pile of dirt. 4. A Christmas wreath hung from a tree beside said dirt pile. 5. Hearing a fog horn sounding from halfway across the city. |
I'm a library assistant, writer, and perpetual graduate student living in San Francisco. Special skills include dog charming, brochure writing, slapdash cooking and long-winded nattering. I also enjoy watching the sunset's reflection in the tall buildings downtown.
For a while there, I taught classes on Classical literature, philosophy, and the history of religion at New College of California. I have an MA and an MFA in Writing, and started library school in the fall of 2009.

Now that you mention it, I don’t remember hearing foghorns in SF. Are they rare, or do I just not pay attention?
